Literature Text

She wanders alone
At the bank of the river
Her heart pounding in freventish beat...
Her sanity gone
She sings and willows weep and quiver
As she dances near their feet
Ophelia dancing...

She dances and she sings
And runs as if a child,
As if a creature not of human birth
But of the river, innocent and wild
Hanging her flower crowns on trees with mirth…
And then she falls, her dresses flutter wide
Around her form like wings…

She giggles loud now
Though her singing does not cease
Not struggling, floating, one with the deep
Her old wings pull her down then and she sinks
Not understanding what or why or how…
She seems completely with her death at ease
Forever a shadow of the water’s fatal kiss upon her lip…
Ophelia drowned

I really like the the jolly feel and jaunting of this poem, which tends to bring me back and think of my childhood days where there'd be not a worry in my mind.

You make very good use of your linebreaks and how they tend to flow after one line ends, and another begins, until its conclusion.

What I also liked about this piece is there was no effort in trying to figure out how it is supposed to be sung -- it had a classical and rather familiar tone and rhythem to it.

I really admire this piece. This has been accepted to the Group!
